The station began broadcasting in Ramallah 15 February 1996. It is owned by Safad Advertising and the Managing Director is Moamar Orabi.
Wattan TV’s primary viewing audience is female, aged18-24 living the in villages of the middle West Bank. 43% of those who watch say it is because of their coverage of local issues and events while 34% say it’s because of the shows it broadcasts.
