The station began broadcasting 10 March 1994.  It is owned by Gama Production Company, Rimah and Abeer Kilani.  Abeer Kilani is the Managing Director of the station.

Gama TV’s primary viewing audience is evenly split between male and female and in economic status.  The primary audience lives in the city and is aged18-24.

Aswatona is supporting two productions with Gama TV; Hadith al Madina, a weekly news magazine of local events, and A Time for Women, a weekly program dealing with various topics and issues.
