We are all Gaza
| | Aswatona’s response to the conflict in Gaza was to pull together the partner stations to concretize a strategy for the media. They began covering all the local activities for assisting the people of Gaza through drives, collections, and peaceful demonstrations. TVs and radios opened their airwaves and screens so that citizens could send announcements and stories of their activities. Municipalities soon joined the Kulona Gaza Campaign with support; advertising dates of shipments for certain items, calls for blood donations, etc. The media outlets adjusted their programming with special segments on dealing with trauma and stress, especially dealing with children. Aswatona, together with UPNN, PNN, and NUR radio network, targeted programming for Gaza through the Hebron radio station partners. Aswatona connected them with key personnel in CHF, the UN, UNWRA, ICRC, and CARE both in the West Bank and Gaza to cover the humanitarian aid and activities in Gaza; they had the breaking news on the humanitarian cease-fire that was picked up by the regional satellite stations; the radio stations started daily broadcast of times and distribution center locations for the day as well as the availability of goods.

Along with forty other relatives, Ibrahim and her family had taken shelter in her brother Abu Ali’s house after the first night of the Israeli airstrikes on Gaza in December. More ...
